LOW COST OF LIVING IN UKRAINE
In order to live comfortably in Ukraine, the student will need to have a minimum of $100 to $150 a month as living cost. The cost of living in Ukraine is a whole lot cheaper than in other European cities. However, it is difficult to give a precise figure because of the varying lifestyles of different students.
Food in Ukraine is very cheap. For example, a student could buy 4kg of potatoes, 4kg of Onions, 3 litres of milk, and more for just $1. Dairy products are also very cheap.
The textbooks that students will use during their study-time are provided by the University library. The stationary needed by students are also very cheap. For example, a bundle of 1000 rough papers costs about $2 in Ukraine. Pens, pencils, and other items are also relatively cheap.
If you have a Travel Pass, you can use the government transport, such as a subway, trolley bus, or train for free. For students it is $20 a month, and they are also given a 40% discount from the normal prices of tickets for trains, buses, and more.
The international student card is issued right after a student gets admission into a university. Students with international student cards are given a 30% concession from the normal air ticket prices.
ACCOMMODATION FOR STUDENTS
Ukrainian national and state universities have a very good hostel system with fully furnished rooms, quiet study environments, and recreational centers. Offices provide a guarantee of academic placement services to international students who receive an academic offer. There are several accommodation options for international students, and it is important to consider whether you prefer an independent lifestyle or enjoy living with a roommate.
